Splinter, my guess is it is a bottle or can opener of sorts.
Say, I have a general question for all you Argentine enthusiasts but not sure where to post.

The missus is just back from the bank. She took advantage of a 400000 peso loan offer to pensioners paid back over 4 years at a very low interest rate. She put it straight into a deposit account which gives her back far more interest in a much shorter space of time.
I must be missing something here as that doesn't make sense to me.

I did miss something. It was ANSES who issued the loan.

Adri told me about this because she finally got a date for Anses to agree to her pension, which she has to buy by the way, but that's another story.
Once she starts receiving her state pension she'll be entitled to loads of freebies like trains, buses and that loan with which she intends to buy dollars, or do what Mrs UK Man did.
No hay mal que por bien no venga.

Gauchos on horseback in San Miguel drive animal rights protesters away from a jineteada where the men break in horses, a tradition going back years.
Is there nothing people won't protest about?

Had to dig a grave today for our lovely Lobito who passed away.

It's always very gut wrenching when a pet dies. How old was he?

We found him 13 yers ago in one of the fields drinking water fom the cattle trough. He was a bit timid but soon as he relised we meant him no harm he followed us to the house and stayed. He was already an adult dog.

When I lived in Spain I used to walk my dog Zulu every night near the pig farm out in the country and it was always very dark.
One night a black lab-cross appeared out of nowhere, Zulu made friends immediately which I found unusual and he simply attached himself to us, following us home so I put him in the garage with Zulu, named him Nigger after the Dambusters dog and he stayed with us for the rest of his life.
In fact he was the perfect foil to Zulu's excitable temperament.

Years of memories of a happy dog. My condolences for the passing of Lobito.

Thanks. The grieving is over and we're now concentating our minds on the happier times he gave us.

Today an old guy reversed off the pavement and hit the wife's 6 month old car as she was driving along. Big bash in the passenger door and plastic trim. He admitted it was his fault but couldn't find his insurance details.

Went to see my scary chest doctor yesterday. As usual after completing all the tests on me she gave me a telling off for not giving up smoking. She then became all 'nicey nicey' as likes to chat to me in English about non health issues. She was telling me she had seen a German lady the day before who, despite having lived here for 60 years refuses to speak a word in Spanish. They had to converse in English instead.
