Japan has some decent players - They weren't at the races in the first half but they played really well in the second. The coach also made a couple of really good substitutions.

And I should correct my earlier observation that, after saying beer would be available at the World Cup, Qatar changed their minds and, just before the opening match, announced that they wouldn’t be selling beer after all.

It seems that the ordinary fan can’t buy beer in the stadium, but people in the executive club boxes (membership US$22,500.00) are served alcohol.

My husband is SO happy that, today being his birthday, he can watch Argentina in the World Cup, then two consecutive American football games this afternoon and tonight, with no argument from anyone!

I envy soccer fans the 90 minute game time . American football stretches on endlessly, ending after an eternity, in the neighborhood of 4 hours.
