That must have been the most impenetrable castle ever built.
Ir reminds me the Andrelkrag castle (imaginary drawing) did by Harold Foster who wrote "The Valiant Prince", a comic series appeared in the 1940's in US and Argentina. It tells the history of Prince Valiant, from Thule, (perhaps today Norway) and his adventures visitng Camelot and being part of the Knights of King Arthiur, circa V century BC.
Harold Foster was an excellent artist who depicted with unusual accuracy all the weapons, things and landscape of the earlier Middle Age.

I remember those comic books! My first piano teacher had a stack of old comics her sons had left behind, for her students to enjoy while waiting for lessons. As I was 4 years old, I couldn’t read them, but still loved the castles and ‘funny clothes’ the people wore.

To borrow Ireland's tagline, A Terrible Beauty.
Terrifying as well.

Impressive....natures way of showing who's boss.
We had a tornado here in 2013. Fun at the start before it frightened the life out of me. As is usual it was the poorest who were hardest hit.

Tornadoes are quite rare in Argentina, aren’t they? I grew up in “tornado alley” in the south central USA, and every March or April found us responding once or twice to tornado warning sirens by trudging to the basement with our pillows and blankets.
The film shows the terrible power of these capricious funnel clouds.

Tornados are really quite rare here. And if they appear, only some roof is destroyed. The reason is that we use mainly masonry to build houses, and walls are 12 inches thick. They resist more than the typical "balloon frame" very popular in the USA. Of course, the masonry is much more expensive and they require more time to be built.

Once was quite enough for me over the period I've lived here. The mothers carer lost the roof off her house as did many others. Once the wind gets under the tin sheeting it doesn't stand a chance.

Better tomatoes than, say, kale -

Even though it comes with just half a tomato that dish would last me a week....

It's a bit like serving someone half a cow, with a lettuce leaf on the side.

But that lettuce leaf makes it all very healthy !!!

What gave it away? The brace of eggs?
And what IS a brace? I’m imagining un maple, and picturing the poor waiter staggering to the table with a month’s worth of food on his tray - -
-
A brace is usually used in shooting circles - a brace of pheasants for example.
Ask Bill Bryson, he'd know.
-
-
Oh rats. You forced me to look it up, and a brace is defined as TWO eggs. Where’s the fun in THAT?

I sincerely hope this was photoshopped.
