I still feel spoiled with this bad attempt from this side of the Rio de la Plata. If this means that this government will actually do something sensed while trying to get over their inferiority complex, so be it!

They are doing very good on their own. Argentina should stop blaming their neighbour and do some serious self-analysis.
They always put the blame on capitalistic countries but then they need the IMF money and are eager to travel to the US, use iPhones, and like US dollars as much as anybody else in Argentina, go on vacation in Uruguay, shop in Miami etc.
Argentinians are lovely people but they really need to grow up.

This should be in the heading of this forum.

Not the entire population. In my experience those who have the least are the most mature.

Looks like we are in for a wee diplomatic dispute
Argentina tore up an agreement that was made between the two governments when Macri was president.

Clutching at straws springs to mind. All rather pathetic.

Surely there will be no illusions of a replay.

All smoke and mirrors. The old distraction ploy, so beloved of banana republics.

Looks like the Argie government continues to get their y-fronts in a twist.
they are getting annoyed at Brazil, who are still allowing UK navy boats to dock and resupply at Brazilian ports. And what is worse the Navy played a friendly football match against their Brazilian counterparts.
Lula is clearly a friend of Alberto and CFK but it could be that his military rulers are not in agreement that they should be used as a political football.

PART of the province of Tierra del Fuego??
Note the comma after "Fuego." I don't think it's really very different from stating that Fogo Island is part of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. All the places have separate identities but are brought together under one administration. (Hmmm. Probably not such a good example since nobody appears to be disputing that Fogo Island is anything other than part of Newfoundland)

How much of Tierra del Fuego was usurped from the Chileans?
-
-
Usurped? By Argentina? GlasgowJohn , do you mean in the Boundary Treaty of 1881?
-
-
The Boundary treaty of 1881 avoided any "usurpation" from either conutries. (Chile and Argentina)
The criteria applied was Chile in the Pacific and Argentina in the Atlantic. The conflict with Chile in 1978 was resolved, and it came from a lack of accuracy in the term Beagle Channel. Where is the eastern end? Fortunately both governments had the good idea to call the mediation of Pope John Paul II, who sent Cardinal Samore and all was over. Chile has complete dominion of the Magellan Strait, until it ends in the Atlantic.
Other minor conflicts have been peacefully resolved in the last decades.
We have a very long frontier with Chile, almost 5000 Km. There are few countries in the world that never went to a war with his neighborg with such long frontier. A signal that we are not barbarian (as many alien people say) than many countries "high civilized" in Europe, to show an example.
I think that a war with Chile will be the worst thing for both countries. The only winners will be the weapons dealers.
