My question to members from the UK: why don’t member countries of the EU insist that their rules be followed by all members? Did Britain take a stand on that, exiting only after not prevailing, or did they even try?
Having been away from the UK for 11 years now I don't keep up with its affairs as much as I used to especially regarding the EU...so I can't answer your question.
I always had the feeling they didn't want to be totally fully integrated when they decided to keep the £. I imagine that'll make their exit from the EU a tad simpler.
I've no problem with immigrants wanting to come to the UK. As long as there's work available enabling them to support themselves then good for them.
I think being an island nation gives Brits a different mentality from other mainland Europeans....maybe we don't feel as 'European' as they do?
