This article from the BA Times helps answer some important questions about the general elections in October. And by the way, it may only be the 27th of December 2018, but those elections soon creep up.

The low-down is that Macri would fare better in a fight against Cristina Kirchner than with Massa, but Vidal would probably do much better in either scenario. This pretty much answers the question over whether it would be 'convenient' if the ex-president was imprisoned before the elections.

It seems that Massa may be the anointed one, so to speak, although he seems well equipped to hang his hat wherever it's convenient to him. he's very bland and seems to trot out the same old boring rhetoric every time he's on TV. Dull and uninspiring doesn't quite describe him.

Macri isn't exactly a great performer either and many of his promises have fallen flat - poverty has in fact increased during his tenure - you know the rest.

Vidal, on the other hand, has far more passion and delivers what she promises. She'd get my vote over the other three.

Hard to believe that the election is less than a year from now. Vidal IS impressive, and seems to be a strong person.

Another kudos for Vidal here. She seems a Iron Lady but she hasn’t much pedigree and much of an important family behind her. Not sure Cambiemos would be willing to pass on the torch to her, yet.

These will be my first voting elections in Argentina, and I am very happy to cast my vote.

No joke! How about sending in a snooping drone?

An excellent resume from The Bubble of the government's role in the handling of the country's economic risk and how this will affect the elections.

Never thought I'd ever be behind a party/leader that delivered 50% inflation. Says a lot about the standard of the competition.

I don't have a vote so my conscience is clear. :P

I should think this little list is being taken into account.

Let’s hope so. Where is the whole list, or could you please post it?

Will Cristina Kirchner run for president in October? 3

    1. Yes (1) 33%
    2. No (0) 0%
    3. She should be behind bars instead (1) 33%
    4. I don't care (1) 33%

Many say that with CFK running again in October's elections, Macri would have a better chance of being elected.

    But will she run?

I voted 'I don't care'. Kind of sad but at least I won't end up being disappointed. :)

In this country anything is possible!! Hence the reason I take very little seriously....especially politics.

To be honest I didn't take politics seriously when I was in the UK either.

I would so love not to take politics seriously. But in both Argentina and the U.S., now is a critical time -- it is hard for me not to have it on my mind all the time.

It is such a struggle that I have to take extraordinary measures in order to keep my sanity. With that goal in mind, we are leaving this weekend for Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Guaranteed to do the trick.

I too think this might turn out a critical year. First issue - Brexit.
