Well seen you're a townie. He's wearing white alpargatas which is very usual for countryside folk. I've had several and wear them every day about the house and garden. Although mine at the moment are maroon and blue. White is not a good idea unless you love washing!!

I am quite familiar with alpargatas, which are worn in the city as well, the minute summer is declared. But I could swear I was looking at toes!

Pepe our little rascal escaped out the front door and ran away today with the missus in hot pursuit. A gentleman who was passing on his Honda witnessed the episode and immediately turned around his bike and gave chase. He managed to corner the little bugger which allowed the out of breath missus to grab hold of him.

It says a lot when a total stranger is willing to help you out....the big plus of living here.

In the UK at the moment the government opposition are making great fuss over a Tory Xmas party video prank that went wrong. While in Argentina fuck all seems to happen when politicins are suspected of stealing billions of dollars and committing other dastardly deeds.

Perhaps Xtina should throw a party that flouts COVID rules, to get reporters off the scent of her thievery.

Happy Saturday Rice and everyone else. After a tiring day I'm having a glass of decent cheap Argie rum and a pipe full of wonderful Argentine Virginia/Burley tobacco.

The wife reminded me I still had some painting to do in the bedroom. Now done!! So having a cold beer with a freeloader.

The wife went around the corner for some strawberries. She's a regular so the lovely girl who owns the shop doesn't mess her about. The other day strawbs were 160 a kilo. Today, despite it being prime strawberry time they were 300 pesos a kilo!!! WTF said the wife..why the price hike? The girl said it's because the lorry drivers all go on holiday at this time of year.....hence the price hike.

No wonder the country's economy is totally fucked!!

The Wife and I started this project the week end after Thanksgiving. We have now sanded and painted the paneling, had new carpet installed, and rehung things on the wall. Living room

is a 14'x28' and the hall is about a 4'x23'. Our hard work has added a nice touch to the old house.

It looks lovely, daniel . You and Mrs Daniel must be not only hard workers, but talented renovators as well!

Our living room looked as nice as that when I last decorated it. The dogs and the missus soon messed it up!! Thank God we don't have a carpet.

We do our weekly shop in Supermercado La Anonima....which is far from super at the best of times. Only reason we go there is to take advantage of credit card discounts which can amount to 25/35% cashback. Today they had no sliced bread,no choice of milk,no butchery and the little choice of fruit and veg they had was mostly rotten. Considering it's the 'number 1' supermarket in this town it's a disaster.

The missus having had years of experience of shopping at Tesco and Asda said ''shopping the UK is a different world''.
