  • there is a saying in banking, it goes like this: When USA sneeze, Europe catch a cold! What happens in Europe and USA for example would be a good indicator of what COULD happen or is likely to happen! Anyone that believe Argentina is an isolated little Switzerland, I cannot help any more!!!! If Europe slows down in the contamination, I think we can chill out a bit.....but until then, u will see me piling and hoarding until the slowdown in infected people has arrive!

Just a funny note: all top politicians and leaders are saying: dont panic, don't hoard! Several of those have been spotted doing exactly that!!!!!

My husband couldn’t take care of his own sutures without fainting after they removed a mole. But he watches a lot of history and war movies.

If there will ever been a gun around us, I am pretty sure it will be in my hand. Which is something I loathe as I don’t do well around guns (I remember being around some armed men in US airports with automatic rifles and I couldn’t wait to get away from that country!).
But I do pretty well at cold thinking in case of emergency and I am sure I will be able to fire a gun if needed.

However, I don’t know how to load one 😅

My issue is that I tend to take too many chances, which is why I wouldn’t have been a good surgeon.

For example, we wanted to change kitchen chairs. We spotted a nice model on ML on February. By the time we came back from our holiday, they are $2000 more each. However, the change rate is going up so they already cost less than in February.

Would you order them anyway? Or would you think you don’t need new chairs for the apocalypse?

For the record, we commissioned a new kitchen in February and it is due for late March/mid April. It is going to cost a lot less in USD for us. Except it’s not a good time to have builders in the house.

@JAN, I may come after your booze stock! My husband stocked up toilet paper where we used to stock bottles of wine and gin. 🙄

  • @imagine how crazy and twisted the world has become, one day wine coming out of the faucet, ( Rice post), next day u have a gun to ur head if u leave house.....

Reminds me of doing sauna in Lapland....first 100c in the sauna, then roll in the snow by -40c..... anyone with a weak heart shouldn't do it unless he has been doing it always!!!!

Your husband will soon obey whatever house rules there is serafina .....a woman with a gun is convincing hahaha

Maybe I will suggest that UK Man s wife get one to... suddenly roof will be fixed and and and

I really fail to understand humans sometimes. For some weird reason thousands of tourists are driving down to Monte Hermoso near Bahia Blanca in spite of the warnings by both the government and the local mayor to stay away. In fact 70% of the businesses are closed and the mayor id pleading with people not to come, but still the queues grow to over 5km.

Surely common sense tells you to keep you and your family safe and to use social distancing.

  • serafina .....this is one of the things which shows how dangerous Argentina is!!!!! It's beyond a normal persons sense!!!! The shit that could happen here is beyond any imagination!

serafina .........I think u missed my Friday recommendation to start prepping!

Next missing items: meds!!!! Many are imported, (the more complex)

Here a lot of hoarding have happened, but still all in stock except alc and gel!

Maybe this guy went international shopping!

Luckily, you can simply wear gloves. There are still stocks of gloves at La Casa del Guante, near the Medicine faculty, with prices ranging from 295 for a box of 100 non-sterile gloves to 600+ for reusable gloves.

Thy also sell disposable face masks, but those are a whopping 170 ARS per piece and are good for one use, only. They should have been back in stock today.

Mask prices on ML is increasing insanely. We got six N95 which should last one week for 729 ARS a piece. We received them today.

I also bought two bottles of surgical soap from a tattoo shop downtown. It is the same soap I had to wash my body with when I got MRSA, recommended by my infective diseases specialist.

  • last week, before the run on everything here, I bought some alc gel by a shop here that sell cleaning stuff....I think it was 120 per liter, 5 liters for 540. Next day I needed to buy some for the family of my daughter, all gone! On Facebook market and ML the price is sky high.....some asking 2000 per liter!!!! Anyway, I guess this will soon be in stock again.....it's just strong vodka with glycerin and some other stuff.....easy peacy to make! I bought some of the alcohol u use to light parilla with....smells sheeet but I think should work same way!

Btw , the stuff I'm hoarding is for me, not for reselling.....it's a lot, but not a totally crazy amount.....just to have enough to eat for 6-12 months and meds for same time.

  • UK Man still in the believe that this is just another flu.......

No one below 80 years of age have EVER seen anything like this, the only ones that could have experienced something of same global panic level would be ww2 survivers!!!!

The day UK man start to hoard and get scared, I think the top of the curve is reached!!!! hahaha

Btw a little good news: seems like Italy is slowing down a bit......but at same time Spain going bananas.....

  • Vaccination coronavirus

Now China is claiming they have a vacuna against the coronavirus!!!!!

Reminds me of antivirus software for computers.......always wondered WHO really sit and try to develop computer viruses except of exactly the ones selling antivirus software!!!!

Probably China started this whole thing to make a statement and make a few USD! Hahaha!

Anyway if it's really true, I will eat spaghetti and tomato sauce for one year to cut my losses......and the meds I will test out when I'm drunk.....

  • Actually, disposable face masks work only when worn by the infected persons, to stop them from spraying virus-laden droplets onto others.

It really IS important to have a 3-month supply of all essential meds, many of which are manufactured in China, and the supply chain may be broken soon if it hasn’t been already.

Has the 🤡 govt released the number of covid-19 tests that have been administered to date? I’m not finding that info anywhere.

I have found an article with some numbers, but not the total number. It says the Malbran Institute carries out 150 tests per day.

    https://www.lavoz.com.ar/ciuda…cientes-test-en-argentina

  • There will always be false negatives and false positives with even the most accurate testing. The point is, without massive testing ability, Argentina won’t have a clue about how to respond to the very serious health crisis that is already there, and will be exponentially multiplying.

If Argentina follows the stellar example of the USA, only getting tests ordered 6 weeks after South Korea had started testing tens of thousands PER DAY, then the people of Argentina will also be completed screwed.
