  • No, the message is meaning that there wll be no energy to supply the huge demand in summertime.

They are not pressing you to pay the invoices, they are only telling you that they cannot supply enough energy.

In older times, the major peak of demand of electricity was wintertime, as energy were used mainly for lighting the houses. Nowadays, due to the extended use of Air Conditioning units, the summer is where the high demand appears.

This shows a growing intemperance to endure the nuisances of the warm weather. People are less able to sacrifice, even the poor ones.

  • An unfortunate and all-too-common trait of Argentine life is, when something obvious and known to all to be imminent happens, the expression of complete surprise and shock from those whose job it is to keep said catastrophe from occurring.

  • From several years the Electricity companies knows that in summertime people wastes more energy. But they are reluctant to increase the delivery, and they blame the government that they were obliged to have low prices. This was a typical excuse for CFK time, but not now. However, it is very real that to increase the release of energy you need investments and time.

Normally, I agree that it is a trait of Argentine people to neglect maintenance. A thing that they are eager to do in their cars (because you can get stuck) but they do not want to maintain their houses, as the house will not be destructed, but may gradually decay.

I know many people who has High Quality cars, but they lives in almost ruined dwellings. It seems that their social prestige relies in their cars, not where they live.
