You have more friends than we do!
Thankfully not. I only have the patience to make an asado for four at the most. Any more than that and it'd be choripan only....they'd have to like it or lump it!!

Very artistic arrangement. Looks really good, too.
Breakfast on this lovely morning.
I’d give anything for medialunas right now. It’s that kind of morning here too.

These medialunas are very good. Light not stodgy like the ones our local bakers make.
The light ones are SO good.
When we get back, I’m going to blow up like a balloon, because I’ll be having medialunas, pizza, choripan, bife de lomo, and miga sandwiches. and that’s just in the first day!
Edit: oh, and empanadas! How could I have forgotten?
I saw a medialuna about 12" across in the bakery earlier today!
Was there a note attached, saying “Save for Rice?”

I'll go back and check!
I'm making tuna empanadas for tonight.
Dinner tonight was the six of the tuna empanadas that were left from the batch I made yesterday. The missus loved them which surprised me given she's not a fish lover.
Do you deliver to CABA, UK Man ?
I'll do anything if the price is right.
Plum picking time. Not only are they very juicy and tasty there's a great crop of them this year. Plenty more to come.

I'll send you my address and cover shipping expenses! They look delicious!
Fruits in Capital are a bit of a hit or miss. Today I bought some watermelon that looked promising, but once I started to cut through it, it was half mushy and threw most of it away. I am glad I didn't take the seller's offer to buy 2. I used to shop regularly at this place, however I have been burned more than once as I found out that when he "makes an offer" to me is just to sell end-of-shelf life produce, expired stuff, or underweight boxes of blackberries.
When I was on a diet, I used to weight every food I ate and noticed that the 125 g blueberry boxes only weighted 100 g. But he made me an offer if you bought 3 boxes... not sure on what part of the deal I was -- I guess on the losing one.
Earlier this month my husband went there to shop for mushroom to grill at our veg BBQ in the countryside. He came back home with 3 trays of mushrooms, only to find that one was 3 weeks past its expiration date. Hard to tell if a mushroom will cause issues after so much time, and not willing to find out in the middle of the countryside where you can't even flush toilet paper. He said "he gave me an offer if bought 3 trays...". Went back to the store, the guy shrugged and said he could exchange the mushrooms for something else.
We go there out of desperation as the Peruvian place was very crowded and you have to stand in line for half a hour. They are also incredibly slow even if the place is stuffed with clients.
Yes the missus recently bought a honeydew melon which smelt and felt ripe for eating. Opened it up and it was only ripe a third way down and the rest was hard. They don't exactly come cheap either.
serafina , have you ever shopped at La Monumental, on Paraguay, esq Araoz? I’ve stopped going to the smaller corner shops that don’t post prices, and nearly always go to La Mon, which posts prices, gives receipts with everything, and has mid-afternoon deliveries of fresh produce. If you go around 5 pm, there is no crowd and you get first pick of everything.
Was in a butcher's shop last week and saw he had a sign up saying ''Hoy Cordero''. So I bought some. The other day I grabbed a few sprigs of mint out in the countryside. So shall attempt making some mint sauce to go with the lamb. That's the plan for my dinner tonight as the missus doesn't like lamb, whether it works out is a different story.

pretty easy! Take a bunch of parsley, about 10-15 leaves of mint, two garlic cloves (you can take off the inner stem for a milder flavor), add salt, black ground pepper and a glass of oil. Blend together and let rest in the fridge for a couple of hour before using.
