Except for one flight to Punta del Este a few years ago, we've never lucked into an international flight out of AEP, which is so much more convenient from Palermo. Even booked a flight on GOL to connect with a flight to North America through Rio last year, because it was scheduled out of AEP. Then it was switched to EZE, and we were stuck with the long ride PLUS the punishingly low baggage allowance of GOL. (But the airline employees and new aircraft were a pleasant surprise!)
According to the bulletin, the only International flights remaining will be those toward Uruguay. However, Montevideo is not much of an International Hub. Sao Paulo is mucho more centrally located to connect South America with the rest of the World.

According to wikipedia, the Southernmost in the World is Kind Edward Point with a latitude of -54.27, Capital of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
Wellington is a mere -41.28, Montevideo -34.88 and Buenos Aires -34.66
