I see why you put that in this thread now, @JAN
Also in the news is that Cablevision, DirecTV and other have opened up all their premium channels at no extra cost to the customers.
ahhhhhh.........ups, landed in the wrong thread....my mistake...🤔
Anyway isn't it ironic that someone that have decided NOT to do more drastic measurements to try and fight the virus, could end up being infected? (Now only quarantine because of her visit by a doctor that have the virus).
On top, she is exactly in the risk group...65 plus.....
This is how they do it in Quebec, the proper way.

Yikes! Female Darth Vader.
just a bit ago a guy my age, was walking the streets looking for carton boxes for recycling.....he couldn't care less about the quarantine.....the guy hit a soft spot in my heart....I don't like to give money to trapitos or beggers or whatever......I was getting real sad inside my body, seeing the guy! By luck I had cleaned some drawers in the kitchen yesterday with food items out of date....just a bit, nothing serious.....I gave him the bag and saw his incredible thankfulness! The next days when I'm going shopping, I'm gonna buy just a few items more, and give it away to exactly those ones! Guy really made me sad....
So they allow cartoneros to roam the streets?
here in tigre the restrictions are to deal with.....like by UK man I guess....if I was him, I couldn't care less either, sorry! Guy was a regular one, not the fucked up crystal bobos.....
They live from day to day....now with all closed, they are fucked!
For me giving a few small items, does not change anything, but by the guy and his family yes!
I would never do this normally I think, unless its the ones I know from here passing the streets.
Guy was not asking for anything, and very polite.....way to go!

Sounds like the type of guy I'd give to. It's those who ask that are a PITA.
lets face it, many of them are just con men or lazy bastards.... they pass by to check out the streets and where they can pick up stuff at nighttime....
But a few are really honest....or at least as honest it gets here hahaha.....
Guy is gonna get home tonight to wife and kids..."didn't collect a lot carton boxes, nothing anywhere.....buuuut I managed to get a bag of food from a connection"
Guy is gonna get some action tonight.....I'm sure the wife pushed him out of sofa and told him to get some shit done otherwiiiiise.......like u on the roof today hahahaha
Well at least he's doing something....most freeloaders in the UK do SFA!!
yep.....that's the type I do not wanna support or help....it's like shooting yourself in the foot....
But I wanna be straight: I'm very fortunate, and many other expats too......by blood, by long evolution or whatever, but also a little by luck....so it's impossible for us to end up really fucked up, nearly.
Btw the guy was not skinny or close to dieing.....I'm sure in a month or two, I'm gonna see his face at the obelisk, cutting the streets off hahaha.....but he didn't look like those.....not that tanned and cocky appearance!
Are cash machines open at banks? Am I allowed to walk to one?
I tried to give a bag full of food to a homeless man around by me and he got very nervous and almost angry. That guy just got worse and worse over a period of a year, walking around with his trousers around his ankles. I offered him help again, my jacket because he looked cold. Same response. I am sure he has since died.
I once gave the shoes off my feet to a guy I seen in Caballito because he had none. I am not saying look at me, but more making the point that you are just as likely have people in need throw it back at you than accept it. Especially those living on the streets.
When I was younger and unofficially on the streets, there would be two types of people. Those who just wanted food and those who wanted money. Those who wanted money needed it for drink and/or drugs and cared not a shit about food.
I often give my loose change to people begging but I haven't given any food yet.
By the way, if you're short on bread try this flatbread (Navajo) recipe which apparently is similar to chapati.
Will try that flatbread. We have been making sourdough bread, and our neighbor is becoming a genius at turning out beautiful baguettes.
Hallestinkinluia for flour!
Rice ....when u r on the go with sourdough...try n add some centeno or make it 100%....then u end up with a good old style German/Scandinavian bread!!! And when u make it with sourdough, it does not turn dry or bad so quickly either.......adding some broken grains, pre-soaked, make it stay soft longer also....
That sounds delicious. Thanks!
The missus went to the supermarket for the weekly shop yesterday and reported back prices have as usual gone up.
I had secretly hoped prices would at least remain the same during this crisis. How silly of me.
