It is superb - but we watched it here in BsAs. I’ll check, but it’s possible we purchased it on iTunes.
This one is worth paying for, if it comes to that.

I acquired it elsewhere yesterday and we're already hooked.
This is a very clever piece of writing and the acting is first class. Peter Egan, Tom Courtney, Hannah Gordon and Bernard Hill are old favourites of mine from British TV over the years and Nicola Walker is spot on. I'm sure I've seen her in something else but I can't think what.
Thanks for the tip Ed and Rice.

Nicola Walker is perhaps best known for her stellar performance in Last Tango in Halifax.
So glad you like The Unforgotten!

We've finished season 2 now and it was interesting to see the lead characters personalities explored even more and from what I've read, season 3 is in production now.
I've read quite a few criticisms of the series, where people feel that it panders to the liberal, SJW and PC brigade a little too much and I have to agree up to a point. But then, isn't contemporary Britain pretty much as portrayed in the series?
I believe so, although you could also say that minorities in the show are portrayed in a slightly better light.

It could be annoying, but I forgive them for that because of the way the writing and acting realistically portrays how real human beings react when those things happen - there are no cardboard cutouts masquerading as police, clergy, etc, here. They didn’t have to inject so many PC themes, but they handled them without clichés.
