Best Website(s) for House and Car Hunting in the Andes, near San Martin, Bariloche, El Bolsón, Trevelin, etc.

I am a gringo with stable (medical disability) income. I have lived in Latin America, and my Spanish is ok. I have lived in Chile, and now Colombia, and I think I would prefer La Argentina, now that the border is open.

I would like to settle in the countryside in the Andes (near San Martin, Bariloche, or El Bolsón, Trevelin, or somewhere in that area). I like rural countryside.

In Chile they had a website called Yapo.cl that was similar to EBay or Craigslist, where you could find cars and houses and such, by region. Are there similar websites in Argentina, where one can search for a place to live, a used car, etc.?

Hi Rice! Thank you! That seems very helpful. I wondered if I should perhaps mention that we are more country people.

Probably we want something smaller than Bariloche, and then we can go to it when we want.

Actually, we are looking anywhere from maybe the San Martin area, all the way down to Trevelin, but we assumed the paperwork and shopping capital of that should maybe be Bariloche, haha.

What website would someone use to hunt for houses along the eastern side of the Andes? I took a look at Craigslist, and all I saw was the BA region.

I like Colombia. Every place has its plusses and minuses. I have friends in Bogotá, and also in Pasto. I am near Pasto in a small tourist town called Chachagui. It has what they call "eternal spring" weather. It is very relaxed here. That can get a little frustrating when you want to get things done, but in general it is a very nice, quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The only concern is that they seem to be getting ready to elect a hardcore socialist who also used to be a guerrilla, and not everyone is sure about what will happen in Colombia if he wins (and he is the frontrunner).

The "eternal spring" weather is really great. I like it a lot. We were considering buying here, but we think we would feel safer and be happier in Argentina (or alternately, Chile), where there are far less kidnappings, and less delinquency, etc.

Are there any tips and tricks to know about shopping in Argentina, as opposed to other Latin countries? We are looking to hire an immigration lawyer, and an accountant. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated.

If you are considering Colombia, the area around Medellin is very popular, for many reasons.

My suggestion would be to look on Airbnb and exchange phone numbers by message or to use Booking com. Some remote locations advertise on their tourist office page, and you can find their email and phone number. If the location is very remote, the signal may not be good, so don't worry if it takes them 2 days to reply to your email or if they don't pick up the phone.
