I have heard it said that the reason the homecoming parade collapsed into chaos was because nobody made any advance plans for the parade for fear of jeopardising the results - "Mufa" again.
Clearly never planned, but the gossip says the government refused to organize it properly because the players said they were not going to the CasA Rosada.

This team won the World Cup through great effort, hard work, and a great spirit of companionship.
The government declare a bloody holiday with very little prior notice.
Any business that opens has to pay their employees double time!
Its also crazy to have a national holiday when only BA residents can attend the bus parade.
Already I see the route has been changed and now there are rumours of a helicopter parade, to avoid having a total bloody traffic nightmare in the center.

My husband is SO happy that, today being his birthday, he can watch Argentina in the World Cup, then two consecutive American football games this afternoon and tonight, with no argument from anyone!
I envy soccer fans the 90 minute game time . American football stretches on endlessly, ending after an eternity, in the neighborhood of 4 hours.
