  • (Quote from Rice) At least it's believable unlike the nonsense the previous lot used to come out with. Still lots of leftover shit to shovel up before things improve I fear.
  • (Quote from Splinter) Yes I wish politicians would just say what they really think. What Macri should have told us was the truth. Along the lines of...''the corrupt ugly little cow and her followers has left Argentina in even deeper shit than we could ever have imagined....so don't expect the country to improve much over the next 30 years''
  • (Quote from Splinter) I suspect those figures were 'manufactured' by diverting the country's financial assets to other areas in order to manipulate said inflation rate. Like all temporary measures, if you don't fix the actual problem the birds will come home to roost at some point. Successive Presidents have been far more interested in being liked than fixing the country's problems. That's why Macri was left with a massive pile of other people's shit to clear up. I feel sorry for the bloke...
  • Indeed.....like it or lump it. Won't stop me moaning though.
  • A surprisingly nice drop of stout from Dia.
  • (Quote from JAN) Bought a six pack of limited edition Schneider Negra at Vea because it was on offer. No better than the German stout from Dia as far as I'm concerned. The Schneider stuff is more expensive as well.
  • If it's dark with a creamy head then it's stout to me.
  • Don't ban Spam....not the kind you can eat anyway. Seem to remember there was a type you could fry which was pretty tasty although God only knows what was in it.

  • (Quote from Splinter) Yes indeed. Not sure if I've had it here or not. In the UK I used to love it sliced with cabbage and mash. Some Colemans mustard on the side.
  • (Quote from Rice) It was. Sometimes simple is best.
  • (Quote from Carlos) I'm sure the last time I saw it was in La Anonima. However, items do have a habit of vanishing from supermarket shelves here never to be seen again. Just to add I don't even see it on Mercado Libre although I may have entered the wrong translation...all I got was canned dog food.
  • Only one thing worse than facelifts and botox and that's seeing middle aged men wearing chupines. I'm looking at you Jan for some reason.
  • That's them Splinter.....no idea how they get them on and off. They obviously never look at themselves in a mirror to see how ridiculous they look.
  • (Quote from JAN) Yeah quite a common sight here...usually the type who go to the gym to lift weights.
  • (Quote from JAN) I dinnae get it?
  • (Quote from JAN) Well that's made me none the ruddy wiser.
  • They're discussing the crisis on the telly. Nowt new as they've been doing that every evening for the past eleven years I've been here. Which tells me nobody has a clue what can be done to fix this country's neverending economic woes.
  • Always used to find this fascination people have here with the dollar all a bit strange until I began to understand why that is. Do something to change that should go a hell of a long way to fixing this country's vicious circle of problems. How they accomplish that is another matter.
  • I think they have to make the saving of your pesos more safe and rewarding than what they offer at the moment. I'm no expert though.
