I think most that is imported cost much more since December, using the U$D blue rate. Locally roasted coffee from imported beans was $30/kg, is now $47-$50 USD. It will take the next stage of removing import tariffs to resolve that problem.
Indeed.

It looks like only a 50 point difference. Do the prices at official or even blue rate seem to be fair market value, or still off by too much? If still out of line, perhaps there will be a further devaluation?
Some do some don't....especially KitKats!!
No joke. Very close to the blue
Even closer now. Milei's plan seems to be working.
It's gone back up again.
A makes sense article however I've never seen the Blue dollar figures mentioned anywhere before.
''the blue rate (black market rate) started moving lower and lower, from its peak at $1,300+ pesos to $940 at the time of writing.''
What gives you that confidence, UK Man ?
I didn't say when they'd slow down.

average pizza place in Munro, 3 guests:
- 1 fugazzeta chica
- 1 pizza grande
- 1 bottle of Quilmes Stout
- 2 cans of pepsi
Total 26.300 ARS plus tip
A typical coffee+medialuna combo in a café in Palermo ranges from 3500 to 4000 ars.
Prices keep going up, they must slow down sometime. God only knows when that'll be though.
If the slide of the Blue carries on at this rate it won't be long before it meets the official rate. Which I suppose is what is meant to happen. Be interesting to know what figure they're aiming/hoping for?
Nowt we can do about it so no point in worrying about it.
The central bank just bought US$303 million, so it could be that.
Probably.
Dollar Blue's crashed again......something's going on.
Why US tourists? In 17 years of spending time in Argentina, I’ve met many tourists, only a handful of them from the US, where the tourism preference is still Europe.
Indeed but most of the long stay 'tourists' who inhabit English speaking social media sites seem to be from the US. Given many of them are here because they can enjoy a decent life on the cheap it's only natural they're worried.
The US 'living on the cheap' tourists seem to be panicking.
Interesting drop in the dollar blue rate continues.
Variations on "La concha de...", usually.
My missus uses that a lot.
I just have balls... and swollen! (not sure if the jokes translates well in English!)
None of us have crystal balls!
Of course! Now if you'd be able to afford more kitkat, I can't say as I have no idea what their price will be by then.
Play or get played
Probably cost around 2000 pesos each by then.
Judicial recess coming to an end, expect a drop again toward the end of the month, then an abrupt bump up in the second half of March.
So if I want to get rid of my 10 dollars I'd best twait until end of March?
The Blue's creeping back up again after recent drops. I'd love to know what instigates such behaviour as the official rate has been stable enough.
Would you be irritated or thrilled if you bought KitKats yesterday and found them half price today? I’d get a wheelbarrow and take it to Dia!
Dia have the best price on KitKats this week....380 each. Unfortunately they're only for the white chocolate ones which I'm not that keen on.
Went to Dia to buy after deciding just to buy the white chocolate KitKats. They had none left!! Relying on regular Sale offers to sell certain items of overpriced stock does seem to be very common practice in Argentina.
