I was on one visit per four years. I don't really care about visiting my family, but on my last visit to the UK it hit me that I actually just miss the place. So, I think it will be annual visits for me from now on.

When I visited the UK in 2014, I had not been back since 2010. Every time I paid for something, I was scrambling around in my wallet preparing the change like I would in Argentina, forgetting that they have change in the UK. Taxis/Remises/Uber are the worst for change, but I don't want to get started on them or I will be here all day.

Btw, and double post I know, but. I go to this Carrefour by me most days. In terms of the offers, I see that they raise prices during the offers. Let's take a tin of corn as an example. On a Wednesday this product could be 20 pesos. On the offer, they will let you buy one and get a second for 80% off, a solid deal. However, the price of the one has been increased to $24 pesos, you're still getting a deal, but there is some trickery behind it.
If I remember and I care enough, I will take some images and post them when I see it next.

I guess the best time to go depends on which store and which barrio. Of course, anytime after 4-5pm is going to be busier. Most times through the day 9am-4pm are ok for the Carrefour by me, in fact often it is completely empty aside from the odd senior citizen. It goes without saying to avoid the weekends when supermarkets have their "offers". If you do want those "offers", buy online.

Same with me, go alone, in and out ASAP. This may be among my favorite topics on the forum so far, not least because supermarkets (or even retail in general) frustrate me no end here, so I am venting. Stores here highlight the how many Argentines does it take to change a lightbulb meme, one to do it, four to stand around talking. In stores, staff are happy to engage in a conversation even if there is a line.
I don't know how many times I have been in a line here and nearly full on flipped out. If you ever hear of a spree killing in Carrefour, you'll know where to look.

Pricing is all over the place for sure. I agree that many places have had the same staff for years. I have not seen new people working in the Carrefour by me in the four years I have lived next to it.

I find all the supermarkets here the same, shit. Even Jumbo and Disco, which for some reason are supposed to be the upmarket choices... why? I actually live right by Carrefour Velez and it is a dump basically.
