A max of 37.2c here today at 16.25 just around the time I had my hose out watering the wife's newly planted palms in the countryside.

Now back home having a well earned chilled Andes beer. F*** the weather!!

And to say that in Argentina there are educated people who thinks that the reason why Venezuela is what it is is because of the interference of shady capitalism (read: the US)! I almost went into a fight with an Italian friend living in Argentina over this. It seems that many K-sympathizers/supporters are convinced that the Venezuelans who fled Venezuela (to go to Argentina, Chile, the US) did so because they didn't like equality and fair policies.

Crazy. Then again, there's even idiots in the UK who think like that. I've known a few over the years....it's just pure envy.

Time to put your KitKats in the fridge, UK Man . Nothing more disappointing that chocolate that has melted before it has gotten into your mouth!

Only got three left and they've been in the fridge for days. La Anonima were wanting 1000 pesos for one the other day. 8|

The Six Nations championship starts tomorrow and Wales are not ranked very well at all, with many pundits giving the team the wooden spoon.

    Wales play Scotland tomorrow.

Well I don't fancy Scotland's chances either. I'll go for the winner's of tomorrow's France v Ireland game to be champions.

I'm keeping the bike tank full at all times, but keeping ahead is a hopeless task.

The missus suggested taking the car out later and going to fill it up. In this heat I doubt that's going to happen though especially as there's likely to be queues. Not worth the flippin' hassle!!

Shouldn't it be more bearable in the countryside? Or are you spending most of the time in downtown Chivilcoy?

We have noticed that when we leave San Miguel del Monte, after sunset it cools down and it gets pleasant to sit out at night, whereas in the city you can feel the heat trapped in the concrete/asphalt oozing during nighttime, so it is noticeably hotter at night.

Yes it's cooler in the countryside if you're in the shade and there's a breeze....no breeze it's just as bloody hot.

The missus would like to stay there, however I refuse as I hate the place.

I’m still grinning about your feeling chirpier because of the overcast sky, UK Man . Here, we’re in winter, and an overcast sky sends me back to bed with a hot mug of tea. NOT feeling chirpy at all.

Well I'd love to swap weathers with you Rice. I detest the heat we're getting. :cursing:

OK, I’m ready to try oven-baked, home made milanesas. Change my mind, GlasgowJohn and UK Man , by giving instructions, starting with what cut of chicken (breast? thigh? either?), how thin to pound, etc.

I’ll make milanesas with an open mind.

My missus now buys them ready made from a butcher friend. She used to make them herself from breast only meat. You need a very sharp knife and steady hand....and don't be mean, cut them quite thick. She doesn't knock the hell out of the chicken ones, just dips them in egg then tosses them in the breadcrumbs.

Cover the bottom of the oven pan in EV Olive Oil heat it up to 200c then sling them in the oven turning them over now and again to check you don't burn their bottoms. You can add chopped parsley/mashed garlic to the breadcrumb mix if you want. She desn't bother.

We do homemade ones at least once a week. Done in the oven - not freid

We occasionally splash out and get the Milanesas made by the Petersen brothers. Bloody expensive but bloody good

What makes theirs expensive GJ? Better quality beef?

Saw it was overcast when I got up earlier which after a rotten night's sleep made me feel chirpier. However the sky's now clear and the sun's out so I'm back to being grumpy again.

Forecast to be 38c today which is 100f....God help us if they're right!!
