Haven't had a drink in over 20yrs now, don't even keep alcohol in the house.

In Scotland I wasn't much of a drinker so rarely kept any in the house. Usually only had a drink when out socialising in a pub or restaurant which wasn't that often. Wasn't really until I came to live here I started to enjoy a drink at home. Mostly beer when the weather's hot or when making an asado. Now I always enjoy having wine with dinner and a snifter before going to bed if I remember to buy it. Always in moderation though.

I've met a few of his type over the years.....not here right enough. I like a drink but thankfully I know when to stop before making a fool of myself.

This did make me wonder, GlasgowJohn and UK Man , how your parents felt about the monarchy and how both of you feel?

My parents were once invited to attend a garden party at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh where they met the Queen. My father kicked the bucket when I was 11 years old so I don't recall him saying yea or nay regarding the monarchy. Although I suspect he didn't give a hoot about the Royals to be honest as he was a bit of a silly arse. My mother OTOH never said anything against them so I have to assume she was all for them.

As for me I have nothing against them. Having said that I would say Charlie boy wasn't the best choice to be King for the age we live in.

Perhaps some other ingredient is a stimulant. And of course, Coca-Cola is filled with caffeine. So no wonder Fernet+Coke is the most popular drink for the all-night set!

Most nights I'm nodding off around 11pm so shall have to give it a go. ^^

I remember the awful fame that had Spain in the 1950, just in her most dark hour.. However Spain was a nice country to stay for foreigners at that time. Now, after a great change, Spain is a very respectable country with a lot of improvements in all fields, especially in infrfasrtructure and welfare for all the population.

Therefore is Spain could rise again from its ashes, I thing that we can do it as well. The pity is that I will not see this due to my age.

I'd say being part of The Common Market/European Union played a major part in changing Spain for the better. Argentina is a law unto themselves because outside of S America nobody really gives a hoot about them.

Do you feel that enough people understand this problem, to turn the election to the opposition? I am thinking of the enormous numbers of uneducated people who do not have any understanding of economics and seemingly have no interest in the country’s economic realities or future, as long as they continue to get Free Stuff, including payment for their votes. Is there any way to get to these voters?

Been saying it for years but this is why this country is in the position it is. The UK was heading the same way until Maggie came in and kicked arse....especially the union leaders who thought they were untouchable. That's what's needed here but it won't happen anytime soon. Argentina is still happy to be in the 1970's.

At a speech in Santiago del Estero, President Fernandez said that inflation in Argentina is in large part down to a world-wide problem.

Who the f**k is he trying to kid?

High inflation been here every month since I came years ago. Don't tell him though or he'll start blaming me!!

True, but rules are rules and it's Charles' turn. Plus, I don't think William and Kate are eager to step up and increase their royal duties with three little children!

The Queen managed to do it and she was much younger than Wills. He's 40 so not exactly a spring chicken. ^^

Been making Lorne sausage this morning.

The mix has been crammed into a loaf tin and put in the fridge. It can stay there until tonight to firm up then I'll cut it into slices. A wee bit was left which I'll fry for lunch to have in a bread roll.
