    Quote from UK Man

Must admit outside of Fawlty Towers I wasn't a fan of his. Might have been my age but I just 'didn't get' Monty Python.

    This.

I’ve never been able to put my finger on it or articulate how I see it exactly but I think it was all supposed to appeal to high-minded public schoolboys and not the general public. In that sense I’ve a feeling I was never supposed to “get it”. If I’m right then I’m glad I don’t.
Michael Palin redeemed himself through the classic “Around the world in 80 days” recreation. Otherwise I’d see him much like I see John Cleese.

What in earth is funny about the Life of Brian or was it Bryan?

Some of those episodes were scripted magnificently and others less so.

John Cleese usually stands in the way of excellence unfortunately.

Like I say, I never met the guy. He might be lovely.

His never coming back to Argentina appears to be a cornerstone of general negative observations. I think that makes sense.

And now we have a respectful period of mourning.

I wonder whether Argentines will move on rather quickly from this. I suspect the ruminating will be short-term.

I saw a take on the runners and riders to replace him.
I was figuring on an African in the mix. But I didn’t see one.

I saw a white-skinned collection of early 70s guys from Portugal, Hungary, Italy peppered scantly with 2 fellas early 50s.

I find myself unexpectedly fascinated by the process and by the candidates.

    But there’s a funeral first.

I’ve not been but watched a few Youtube videos there. It seems quite scruffy not just around the edges but even downtown too is pretty rough is my take on it from video footage
But the lure is powerful even if not taking an Antarctic voyage. The setting is persuasive as is the badge of honour of visiting “the edge of the earth”

What was his take on the Dirty War back in the day? Whilst A matter that has troubled the church ever since I’ve not got a handle on his particular take or role.

The Supreme Court in London is only for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I can provide a citation if requested.

I should add that case law in Scotland is considered “persuasive” in England and Wales and may have been considered accordingly if some Judgment of relevance has been made there.

I’ve never met him so it’s only a casual observation.

Common sense isn’t that common these days and the fact that Supreme Court Judges- the highest legal minds in the country, had to deliberate on this is itself ludicrous to me.

I spent some days reading. All with an open mind that derives from a fundamental lack of understanding. Each article I read persuaded me even when 2 articles offered diametrically opposed views and analysis.

So now we watch it play out in real time.

And I wonder whether what happens today, consolidates or reverses tomorrow.

    The only certainty is manipulation.

Market forces won’t be allowed to perform naturally.

I’m certain of that element of things.

Imagine if the value of the peso can’t be protected and dollar reserves are depleted and meanwhile they’ve taken in more Dollar loans repayable in Dollars. There’s a lot of inherent risk it seems to me. But Milei thinks and acts differently to any other President that’s gone before him. So let’s see. For sure we are going to find out.

Id like to remain optimistic too but to me, the uptick in the rates at Western Union over the past few weeks suggests to me, the market has other ideas to Milei. And that’s why there must be ongoing smoke and mirrors.

But there’s a lot of moving parts.

I definitely don’t understand the ins and outs but if the goal is that all rates reach parity thereby making the Blue redundant, then as far as I’m concerned that must involve ongoing manipulation and jiggery-pokery.

I must walk around Buenos Aires with my eyes closed.

Id never seen these Penguinitos if that’s their name. Then only days ago I saw an American antique-dealer on YouTube trawling antique markets city-wide looking to buy them and ship them to the US.
I wonder what else is a thing in this city I haven’t a clue about?

I think I read Musk lost 39 billion in stock value because of Trump’s trade tariffs. Or some such bollocks. At that level it’s just numbers on a screen.

But then what’s 39 billion between friends when you’re running the show?

I must admit that the investigation seems to have gone on so long I sensed perhaps it was going nowhere.

But here we are. I suspect it’s a case of the Police and CPS being extra thorough in getting everything lined up better than they often do before pulling the trigger on this one

Interestingly enough I saw an interview only a week or 2 ago with another British wartime code-breaker who lives in a nursing home in Argentina. Did I not see that here? Anyway I will see if I can find it

Found it! Code maker rather than breaker.

Ana Hume y Molly Chapman trabajaron codificando y transmitiendo mensajes en los subsuelos de distintos castillos ingleses y escoceses, protegidas del incesante…
