Talking of flights, the lad has almost ended his six months Asian tour having spent three months each in Japan, S. Korea and Australia. His favourite place was Japan. As I type, he's midway across the pacific to Santiago from where he'll catch a flight to Aeroparque which is only twenty minutes away for us to collect him. So much easier than EZE.

We got ourselves some direct flights for April 27, threw some avoios points at it and it was almost half the price we payed this year.

More cash in dollars than any country outside of the US apparently.

We bought ourselves a VW Tera a couple of months back, very pleased with it being a compact SUV as it rolls over the bumps here in Tigre and elsewhere. Decided to go new as secondhand just seemed pointless with the prices etc.

We got it from A.Russoniello VW in Acassuso, good service by the standards here as the other three dealerships we visited seemed to want to tell me everything apart from a final price. We registered and did all the plates ourselves saving a pretty penny.

Never a dull moment here in BA 😂.

But yeah hope she is alright, sure we'll find out soon enough.

If I bought the car this month would I only pay for the final month of this years(extortionate) patente, pro rata, and then start afresh in March with the new rates?

Or would I have to pay for the whole year at 2025 prices?

This kills my oneway rides down the costa.

So I finally got my hands on my DNI, and now to buy a car. I'm looking a a year or two old Toyota Yaris but the question will obviously apply to any.

In the UK when you buy secondhand you drive away with the car the same day, with the seller giving you the new keeper slip from the V5C(logbook for our US brethren).

My understanding here is you have to have the car transferred before you can take it away, but I'm not entirely sure how it all works. Maybe if someone here can shed some light on things that would be great?

Totally unnecessary and is just more invasion in peoples lives. Reeves at the ready to up taxes to pay for it all, then enjoy the money rolling in selling people's personal information like they did with the NHS app. With this, the online safety act and muting of the government having access to your bank account without a court order to do as they see fit we are racing to get to 1984.

My take, exactly. Current upper limit is at 1400, which is very close. I have been away for over a month and I don't have a fresh take on street prices. However, my university tuition and health insurance kept going up (5-10% per month), regardless.

I am currently in Romania and it is a steal compared to Italy, let alone compared to Argentina.

It's 1450 now I think with the percentage increase, but things are still going up more than the exchange rate and even inflation with some items. Other things have gotten slightly cheaper due to falling demand but minoristas are still trying to push high margins on their products. Its a mess, like all of my six years here except its a drastically more expensive mess at the moment.

Big money on offer.
