  • Very thought-provoking article. It's so unfortunate that no leader can ever be elected by saying the hard truths, in this case "We can turn things around, but the remedy will have to be drastic and will really hurt."

  • Neilson has been for some time my favorite journalist of any nation. He explains his positions clearly and fans no flames as he does it - unless you’re maybe a dedicated K.

    But you’re not.

    But you’re not.

Of course I am not. You know me, and my thoughts about my country. Perhaps I am the most critical.

Carlos, I was trying to be funny, and that comment was certainly not directed at you. I know that of all the abominations suffered by Argentina, you consider the K plague to be the worst of all of them.

Of course that I do not think that you were not funny.

Perhaps I am the one of the forum who is argentinean and can tell all my criticism of my country. I assume that many of the forum agree with me, but as they are not my countrymen, as all of you have manners, and are well educated, try to not to offend me. Thanks for that, but I prefer the truth above all things.

  • Carlos , your perspective and love of country are very clear, even as you are critical when Argentina falls short of your hopes and aspirations for your land. I think we are all inclined that way: we so want our countries to be their best that we are sorely disappointed — and frustrated — when they fail to live up to our expectations.
