Flooding in the Subtes

    This huge storm has caused very bad flooding in Linea E of the BA subte as well as downed trees, power cuts and other mayhem.

    We have vivid memories of flooded subte and train lines, 5-6 years ago. The unmentioned side effect is that the colectivos become too crowded for pickups, the taxis are all taken, and the rest of us wind up slogging miles through the driving rain....

    And then, there are the apartment bldg elevators that are rendered inoperative for days....

    Now that's a storm drain!

    This is in lower San Isidro and I stopped to chat with the workers yesterday who told me that in heavy rain it gets filled up, taking water from Av.Libertador to the river.
