With the new software upgrade, many new features have been added including:
Rank progress bar
Nav bar social links
Five star thread rating system
Geolocation for gallery picture uploads
Clearer and bigger Who's Online emojis
Achievement trophies
I love the new 'online users' feature. Not only it shows the users currently online, but also anonymous visitors and search results. I encourage anonymous visitors to join the forum and start contributing!
You can't rate your own threads by the way.
Might as well call this site, CaraLibro

Is the "rank progress bar" a Plugin from an independent developer? Nice feature!
Yes, I found it on the plugin page, although it's only visible to one's own account as far as I can see. IE we can't see others' progress ranking.

"Psst come back!" tab alert removed for being irritating.
Thank you! That was making me crazy, as I tried everything I could think of, to get rid of it.

Me too.
Seemed a good idea at the time and I also received a review of the forum from The Admin Zone, which mentioned that feature.
I too considered it clever the first time it appeared. With repetition it quickly turned annoying. Thanks.

interesting thoughts -- his and yours.
Got to admit, that alert was annoying. Couldn't really see the point of the alert, we are busy folks y'know

When I first heard about that Plug-in I decided it was just so much "clutter".
There are other Plug-ins "out there" that are just as worthless or represent a disturbing nuisance at the very least.
Some seem to be okay at first but they don't "pan out" in reality; and when they interfere with the Members' "flow", it's time to get them the boot!
One of those "irritating nuisances" on this forum are those "pop-up" news bits or alerts (or whatever you call them) every time I log in and start to
navigate my "notifications" list. When they pop up I immediately click on the little "x" to get rid of them.

That plugin caused also troubles because I usually open in a new tab each post I am interested into. However, it often prevented me to publish replies because too many tabs were open.

I'm looking into options for members to disable the pop up notifications individually, rather than remove them across the board.
For the moment try going to your control panel>settings>notifications and disable the notifications you don't want.
If that doesn't work I'll remove the notifications pop up plugin.
