Media plugin

The software plugin which shows a preview of Twitter, Facebook and other social media, and also embedding for Google maps is awaiting an update.

This should take place over the next few days, so if your social media links aren't displaying correctly, that's the reason.

The media plugin is working correctly for most sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Imgur etc, but not correctly for BBC links. This is because the BBC has only recently converted its main news page to SSL (https) and some tweaking is required in the backend of the forum.

That's being attended to, but it may take a few days.

Test only please ignore, since we are testing the media plugin with the developer, for compatibility purposes.

We're currently testing the updated media link software which handles links from BBC etc for showing a clickable preview.

We're working on the media plugin so that every BBC link looks like this, with clickable links as shown in red:

At the moment all we're seeing is an image that isn't clickable on our site, but on the dev's site it works just fine.

It's only recently that the BBC adopted SSL for all its news stories, so we think it might be related to that.

With assistance from the plugin developer, the issue with link previews, such as with the BBC, have now been fixed.
