Announced today that BA are returning to serve EZE with a direct flight avoiding the both ways PITA stop in Brasil.

''Buenos Aires, Argentina will move to a daily non-stop service, with an onward tag to Santiago, Chile. Customers will benefit from the only non-stop flights between London and Buenos Aires, as well as the convenience of daily services to Santiago, providing more choice and flexibility across South America''.

It was about time! I am annoyed that I always have to make a plane change, but when I had to do also the stop-over in San Paulo, it was a never-ending journey! I don't understand why Alitalia (or whatever it is called nowadays) doesn't resume at least a weekly flight to Milan.

On my last trip, I flew LATAM and I did a 3-hour layover in San Paulo. It wasn't much of a hassle as the flight was late both during the outbound and inbound trip, so the 3-hour was actually 2. It was perfect to have lunch and check my email before boarding the next plane since the intercontinental flight leaves from a different terminal and it takes 15-20' to get there, anyway, plus we had to re-do security screening in Brasil (why?!).

Lufthansa have stopped flying to Glasgow which was disappointing to see after our very enjoyable flights with them via Frankfurt last year. So I've been looking at flying with KLM instead as I can't be arsed with the Brasil stop British Airways have. This news now means BA are back in with a shout of getting our money.

This is great news! However, I bet it's expensive.

Talking of flights, the lad has almost ended his six months Asian tour having spent three months each in Japan, S. Korea and Australia. His favourite place was Japan. As I type, he's midway across the pacific to Santiago from where he'll catch a flight to Aeroparque which is only twenty minutes away for us to collect him. So much easier than EZE.

My husband was just asking last weekend, if there was an update on THE LAD. What a year he has had! Will he return to the same job in BsAs?

I don't mind paying a bit extra but not a lot. As we'd be connecting at Heathrow to go to Glasgow they have to compete with KLM on price so if the price difference is a lot higher we'll just fly KLM or use Edinburgh which Lufthansa still serve. It was BA's stop in Brazil that got on my goat. The flight's long enough without adding an extra couple of hours to it especially when you have to connect at the other end.

We got ourselves some direct flights for April 27, threw some avoios points at it and it was almost half the price we payed this year.

The lad works remotely on his laptop, so it's the same job.

We collected him from Aeroparque last night and the turnaround was incredible. Plane from Santiago landed at 19.40, we waited with the car at the Uber ten minute waiting area and we were leaving the airport by 20.15. Nothing like EZE! We then took him to his flat, greeted the cat and he was arranging an asado with his mates in Martinez!
