I don’t know if I dread more the idea of breaking the mattress or the roof.I'm thinking about your terrace plants, which I'm sure you've moved out of the way, as much as possible.

I can't describe how much better I feel now that the mattress is where it should be and not hanging by a thread over a 9 meter fall. It wasn't damaged as much as my back. The two guys have been great and only asked for 90,000 pesos. We gave them 120,000. It was a lot of work and it was risky because of the height.
We just have to finally break in the new mattress, one week after we purchased it. One thing is for sure: we ain't moving from here soon.
Sliding down the stairs the old memory foam one was a breeze.
We have put up for sale the old mattress and the new bases that came for free with the new mattress, in case anyone is interested.
The mattress is 160x200 and the two bases (sommier) are 80x200 each.
