Residency via investment

    Hello,

    New to the forum and looking to relocate to Argentina with an interest in gemstones. I'm researching starting a business there but the process looks complicated. I'm alternatively interested in investing in an existing business as a path to residency. Chatgpt says an immigration attorney investigated and found that no investor-residency cases have been approved since pre-2018. But there is also reporting that some small businesses owers have been granted residency. Has anyone navigated this process recently and is it viable? Thanks

    Almost all of the regular posters are residents through having Argentine wives or husbands

    The residency rules are constantly changing - I think you may have to find a lawyer to help you out.

    And unfortunately, the lawyers are sometimes the worst people to ask to help you out in the case you describe.

    There are elections next year and the rules could change again.....

    Why do many first time posters asking a question here rarely come back to at least acknowledge someone took time to answer them?

    Always makes me think they're just here to collect information for an ulterior motive rather than personal use.

    I can't think they would be getting much info by posting a question. I put it down to poor manners, and not considering how much more time members spend trying to help them, than they spent writing the question.

    I always get the feeling they scour internet forums just looking for information to use on their websites.
