Karl Bushby(born March 30, 1969) is an English walking adventurer, and author, currently attempting to be the first person in history to completely walk an unbroken path around the world. Bushby's trek is known as the Goliath Expedition. He started it in the southern tip of Chile in 1998 and is expected to return to England by September or October 2026.
The very last hurdle is crossing by foot the English Channel. He said that shouldn't he be able to get a permit, he plans on swimming across!

This rings a bell because I'm sure we posted about him a couple of years ago, wondering how he was going to walk across the Channel. He can't walk through the tunnel but perhaps he could walk while on the ferry from Calais to Dover which is only about 40 minutes?
I swear I had forgotten about him! He is asking for a permit to walk through the tunnel, but if he fails to get it, his only option is to swim. However, my humble suggestion is to simply go to Gibraltar or the closes British territory, and call it quits.

Can't see them allowing him to walk the tunnel. He can just cross the channel using a pedal boat.

His website is brilliant and well worth a visit. I'm also wondering how he will feel about the UK when he steps ashore after nearly 30 years away.
