There's certainly loads of alfajor brands to choose from. Every supermarket I go into has mountains of them lying everywhere. Strange thing is I rarely see anyone eating one Not once in all my years here have I ever been offered one when invited in for a coffee.

That's true; I can't recall alfajores at anyone's house either. But a friend of ours always gave us a box of Havann alfajores at Christmas, and we thanked him with every delicious bite.
BTW, I have never known why the 2 n's in Havanna. Does anyone know?
