I was shocked to read that she had been murdered, only to later read that a suspect had since been released. What I can't connect is her management team's initial announcement of her death yesterday with no details having been given on how she died, but then the same management team confirming the police murder investigation. My question is: how did her team learn of her death in the first place?

One has to assume that the assailant is still at large? This is tragic but also weird.

No one deserves to die a violent death , not least in their own home.

Yet , even with her death Widdecombe remains a divisive character.

She was a nasty homophobe amongst other major character defects.

I recall she recommended women in prison who were in labour and giving birth should be handcuffed to their bed to avoid attempts to escape.

This writer makes a valid point.

The news of Ann Widdecombe’s murder has been weighing on me like a cold stone right in the middle of my chest these past few days.

The writer seems to be blabbering on about the exact same thing she's objecting to.

The prosecutor confirms that Ann was hit 21 times over the head with a hammer yet...

    Quote

"at this stage the precise medical cause of death has yet to be established".

Surely it's pretty obvious how she died. And why was the anti-terrorism squad involved? What was the murderer's motive to drive hundreds of miles to kill her with a hammer? There seems to be a lot that we are not being told.

Ann Widdecombe was hit on head 21 times with hammer, prosecutors say
Joshua Kerry, 28, attacked Widdecombe while she was eating lunch at her home in Devon before stealing her wallet, prosecutors say.
