It's not looking good for UK PM Starmer what with a probable leadership contest coming up with Andy Burnham the likely candidate to run against him. Personally, I think he'll fight on but he won't survive. The odds are too bad.

Surrounded by back stabbers can't be much fun. Then again, that's the way politics seems to work nowadays.
I'd never even heard of Andy Burnham before this latest leadership fracas - remember the Conservative party shambles? - but it looks like he's the front runner.
I see that DT is writing about it....why he should be bothered about immigration in the UK and North Sea oil is beyond me.
Primary reasons: He’s never lost liked Starmer. And he loves to be right and say “I told you so.”
Secondarily, if the UK pursues a humane immigration policy, it will shine a spotlight on his own cruel policies. And oil? Always of interest, in case there’s a chance of diverting any profit to his personal gain.

Burnham may just bring the party together. My Mancunian feinds think highly of him .
To be honest , I will have to read more about him before I make up my mind.
He owes several people favours so I'm sure his first job will be to see them okay. Here's hoping he doesn't have anything to hide as the press will surely be hunting for any dirt.

I couldn't care less to be honest. However the way he was ousted by a bunch of bullyboy political buddies doesn't look good. To go from being a city mayor to British Prime Minister within days is farcical.
Seems to be the way British politics works nowadays though.
