This article claims that beef prices are up 450% since November 2023 and 73.7% since February 2025. Are you seeing prices that reflect these figures?

I cannot remember prices of November 2023. Though yes, the Peso price for beef is double what it was last summer, 12-14 months ago. There has been a surge just these past 4 weeks.Certainly for the more desired cuts.

We continue to buy lamb which is still common to find in the supermarkets. They are smaller than US ones, probably because of the breed, and maybe they bring to market younger without a fattening step. A 2.5-3kg lamb leg every week or two. Chump and shank bone on. We ate one today that will be some leftovers. Cost 25%-50% more AR$ than last summer.

There's no doubt the price will have gone up. So although I haven't a clue of the exact percentages those figures wouldn't surprise me. Suits us as the missus rents out some land to beef producers and the rent is worked out on the current price of beef. The contract is set to be renewed this month.

We buy it all. The variety of protein helps to break the mealtime monotony. Beef, pork, lamb, a whole chicken, and fish is in the reglar rotation. Less often is tofu. The occasional goat. Our farm raised chicken place has been getting us rabbit when we give them 1-3 days advance notice which have been great. Still missing a provider of duck. Only once the butcher surprised me with one since I kept asking.
