Another MP for the Green Party

The Green Party won the Gorton and Denton by election , called after the resignation of Labour MP Andrew Gwynne.

In theory , Gorton and Denton wa avery safe Labour seat.

Labour ended up in third place behing the Green and the Reform UK party.

Is this the beginnng of the end for Starmer?

Labour, which took the seat with more than 50% of the vote in 2024, came behind Reform UK.

British politics has changed immensely since I started voting. Back then it was Heath or Wilson and their cronies with the odd Liberal in the background.

I really wouldn't know who the heck is who nowadays.

Just been reading that the new MP is a plumber .

Not many female plumbers about the place , I imagine

She's the second female plumber I've heard of recently. There was another younger beauty on the BBC last week who has just finished her plumbing apprenticeship. She'd be more than welcome to come and see my plumbing anyday.
