The missus doesn't trust most of that stuff either. From what I've seen where they produce it I don't blame her. We just buy bottled stuff from the supermarket. Nestle for making tea//coffee/mate and Villavicencio for drinking straight.

We also have a filter and a double faucet. It is not this exact model shown below, but it works the same. There are a few models on ML starting from 150k.

You use the left lever for filtered water (cold only), and the main lever for unfiltered one (hot/cold).

Once we installed it, we were able to move the filter below the countertop, allowing for more free space on the countertop itself, which as ideal as we don't have a large kitchen and the filter itself is not exactly a nice sight.

The pro of this solution is that you don't need to make holes in the countertop for another faucet. It is installed like a regular faucet, and the piping is arranged underneath the countertop.

We also have a simpler filter than that shown below, we just have one white filter and once a year our seller/installer comes in to change it for about 40 USD. We tried to stretch it to two years, but the result was a filter with the color of the Rio de la Plata. Ouch! But this just proves how we need a good filter for drinking water (we don't buy bottled water, as it is a pain to carry).

We also have an arsenic problem in Escobar.

But I have asked the question to the technical people. How much water is too much?

One liter or a thousand liters....no one has an answer.

I understand that the arsenic problem does not disappear when you boil the water....

But I want to know how much water I can safely drink.

Maybe it's safer to drink beer.....:th_giggle01::th_giggle01::th_giggle01:

I am no expert, GlasgowJohn , but the OMS says:

    Quote

This website shows a maps of Argentina with the arsenic levels and colored keys that indicate if you are in a dangerous arsenic level zone or not. For Escobar, there are actually all three levels - from safe to dangerous. Where are you, GlasgowJohn ?

We don't drink the water straight from the tap, only through the filter. Most, we boil anyway for tea and coffee.

Ours has a tube that attaches to the tap outlet.

    We are in Loma Verde.

Given that our Barrio's admin people are a bunch of lazy SODS, our little sub barrio has decided to do our own analysis. Will report back next week.

Worth doing. My missus got an electric pump installed in the garden that goes down very deep so she could water the garden. For years we used to bottle it to use in the house as it was so cold and tasted great. After she sent off a sample to be tested we stopped drinking it as the results weren't very good.
