    If you’re going to Rome, be sure to pack a telephoto lens if you want to see the Fountain of Trevi. Or pony up the new €2 fee to get close enough to see it and toss a coin into it.

    Seems like a good idea. A Minor amount to help with the impact of all those visitors.

    I personally tend to avoid these famous tourist sights when visiting places so they'll get bugger all from tight-fisted me if I go to Rome. ^^

    These 'tourist taxes/fees' seem to be becoming much more common nowadays. To such an extent airports are getting in on the act....even hotels are at it now.
