Hot and lazy as only Sunday afternoon in December can be, a scumbag had no better idea than to leave his dog to roast in the car with the windows up. A neighbor alerted the police, who called the firemen to break the window (why can't they do that?).

In any case, the police pickup was parked facing the SUV with the dog inside, so that the owner couldn't escape if he arrived (we are on a one-way street, by the way.) There were 6 policemen with 2 police cars, 2 on a bike.

Finally, the passenger's window was broken and the dog was saved. The SUV owner arrived with his grandchild (about 10-12 years old).

I wasn't able to see what happened then... I just saw the boy going in the rear seats, the windows broken, no sign of the dog.

That's all what's left of the incident.

When we arrived in BA after midday it was quite chilly and there was still a lot of cloud about. All of a sudden the cloud cleared, the sun came and the temperature shot up. Not excusing the car and dog owner but I can see how such a thing could easily happen.

Well done that neighbour and hopefully a lesson learned for the owner.
