Who could even imagine so many conspiracy theories?

The masters of conspiracies are great at inventing new theories to further their own causes and to confuse the rest of us.

Probably the weakest as well. ^^

Do they still make Tennents Special?

Just seen they do but it's not as I remember it. I seem to recall it came in a bottle and was a strong lager....could be wrong though.

This chap reviews the modern version and doesn't have anything good to say about it. His patter gave me a good laugh though. ^^

FIFA seems to have left behind about a dozen cities holding the bag. Surprised?

"The U.S. taxpayer contributed hugely to the direct and indirect costs of the 2026 tournament, with the expenses easily into the billions, as costs spread across security, transportation, logistics and operations.

FIFA took the vast majority of the revenue from World Cup ticketing, media rights, sponsorship, concessions and parking, while cities were responsible for the bulk of the costs related to transportation, safety and security, extending beyond the stadium to FIFA Fan Fest locations, airports and even vehicles used in the competition.

As a case study, the Kansas City host committee for the World Cup told The Athletic it has received $42.5 million from the State of Missouri, $28 million from the State of Kansas, $14.8 million from Kansas City, Missouri, and a further $1.5 million from other public sources, totalling $86.8 million of public investment. Then there was $59.52 million in federal security assistance, as well as $13.3m in federal grants for transportation."

FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced last year that host cities for the 2025 Club World Cup would receive $1m.

A National Day for Argentina? Seems somehow inappropriately political. But because Argentina is so holiday-deprived, ....

No wonder they will rewrite history and say that Argentina won this World Cup because the real win was that against England and not the final they lost against Spain. Just like they are convinced they won the Malvinas/Falkland war but somehow the English still control the islands.

There's a small shop around the corner which I pass every day on my bike ride and they put this up the other day. Some people simply can't give it a rest.

Doesn't surprise me to be honest. This town has lots of graffiti on abandoned building walls, most of it is done by various political party workers. Still got K stuff that's been there for years. A fine example to set.

This reminds me so much of the US Southern States' refusing to let go of The Lost Cause of the Civil War. And of the current US president insisting that he won the 2020 election (in which he won 232 electoral votes to Biden's 306).

Maybe this unhinged denialism is a way of saying "Despite all evidence to the contrary, we aren't losers?"
