I remember when sailing across the Bay of Biscay and out of sight of land, we used dead reckoning, which is not very scientific, yet we reached Bayona just fine.
GPS is just too easy and takes away our awareness.

Well maybe, but it’s nice to have GPS as a backup, just in case??
