Since this group is accustomed to packing, I suspect you’ll all have your own variations on this advice on traveling light.

I like the 3-3-3 method, though I rarely achieve it. When I read the 5-4-3-2-1 method, I wondered if my carryon bag was smaller than theirs! What is missing from this article is all the non-clothing items I need or want to take along.

How to Pack a Capsule Wardrobe for Travel
Consolidating a fabulous wardrobe into a tiny carry-on is a daunting task. Luckily, our critic breaks it down into simple math.

I can manage it no problem at all. However with my wife in tow it's impossible.

What do you and Mrs UK Man take in your luggage besides clothes and gifts from Argentina? It’s those OTHER things that always do me in.

The only time we would ever fly with just cabin bags was when we lived in the UK and flew somewhere in Europe for the weekend.

When we used to fly around the world we always had a suitcase plus a cabin bag each. Now we don't bother about number of bags which is a relief.

You don’t bother about the number of bags?

As long as they are within the airline baggage allowance then it's okay. We had to buy two cases on our recent trip to accommodate her purchases while away. Then she moaned she could have bought more stuff because they ended up being several kilos inside the weight limit. :whistling:

It was the fault of the dodgy scales thingy she bought. I advised we err on the side of caution instead of being over the limit and having to take stuff out before allowing us to check-in.
