@splinter’s mention of Cachi in the “favorite cities” thread made me think of this article I just read this morning.

This Hidden Gem in Italy Is Filled With Rich History, Gorgeous Views, and Art - and It's an Easy Day Trip From Rome
Where to eat, drink, and shop in Italy's charming hill town of Orvieto.

I have learned that I currently prefer visiting villages more than cities, and I like to dig in for a few weeks, when possible, to feel the rhythm of life. Orvietto sounds like a place that would both relaxing and educational. And beautiful.

Ever since overcrowded Madrid and Barcelona last year, I much prefer small towns. Except maybe Paris and London.
