On this day in June 1975

This is why Argentines have a healthy distrust of governments. In fact, I mentioned this to Adri this morning and she told me that on that day it was the first time she had ever seen her father cry. He had been in the middle of a property transaction and the 150% devaluation caused him to lose both thousands of dollars and two properties in the deal.

This particular minister lasted 49 days in the job. I remember because I was living here at the time.

These articles seem to blame the continuing decline of Argentina on the extreme measures of the Rodrigazo, which did such severe damage to the people, like Adri’s father, that the country has simply never recovered.

    Tragic.

So this is what the missus was talking about. I hear so many of these Argentine economic disaster stories they just go in one ear and out the other to be honest.
