The largest 'informal' street market in Latin America known as La Salada in Lomas de Zamora was closed by authorities about ten days ago. It has a long history of extortion, violence and Mafia style protectionism. Today, stall holders blocked roads such as El Camino Negro (a dangerous raod) and faced off with police.
The public face of this 'feria' is Jorge Castillo who is now detained along with his son, Manuel. They live in the luxury gated community of Haras Argentino Farm Club, near Lujan, a million miles away from the roughness of Zamora.
Police have also retained dozens of the Castillo vehicles, some worth over US$150,000.
These people are known felons and clearly the Kuka regime allowed their extortions to continue.
