British Airways just sent an email proclaiming June 1 as World Breakfast Day. The message highlights hotels around the world that have especially noteworthy breakfasts.

With your trip to the UK approaching, UK Man , I read this and imagined a side trip to London for you.

    Rosewood London, UK

Best for… a full English with a twist
For the most satisfying of breakfasts, check in to Rosewood London, a marble-lined Edwardian pile where nothing’s done by halves (one of the suites is so enormous, it even has its own postcode). Resisting the temptation of eggs Benedict in bed, head to its grand brasserie, Holborn Dining Room, and order a Breakfast Pie (opening image): a full English breakfast – sausage, bacon, black pudding, beans and all – audaciously encased in pastry, topped with a fried egg and served with a tomato fondue. Balance out the indulgence with a beauty-boosting Golden Glow smoothie made with orange, lemon, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, banana and avocado.

What to order: A pie to share, plus some lighter dishes – the cloud-like buttermilk pancakes with tangy raspberry compote and creamy mascarpone, say, or a fruit salad of pineapple, melon and berries.

We're going to Glasgow via Frankfurt so no London for us. Food wise I'm looking forward to fry up breakfasts and a trip to the chippy for a fish supper. Plus a few pints of draught Guinness.

It was actually quite decent as well.

Seen as we're on about fry ups. As the wife's birthday is tomorrow we decided to make asado to celebrate. So we went to El Pato the butcher's to buy some beef to BBQ. Despite it having the repuatation for being the best butchers in town we hadn't been in for years due to the missus getting pissed off by a guy there who claimed to be security. He was throwing his weight about when she ignored the queue and went straight to look at the display of meats. So she more or less told him to F*** Off and left. :D

Anyway apart from getting some beef for tomorrow I spotted they had salchicha so got some to try. Have to say it's the best sausage sarnie I've ever had here. 100% pure pork with no condiments added to spice it up.
