This is breaking news about something we may never know the backstory on.

U.S. and Ukraine Sign Minerals Deal (Gift Article)
The Trump administration did not immediately provide details about the agreement, and it was not clear what it meant for the future of U.S. military support…

From what I've read, Zelensky believes that this deal will ensure continuity of US military aid, but there's bound to be a sting.

Definitely. And, BTW, watch out, Argentina.

    You are absolutely right.

    Putin won't be very happy....

But maybe there's more to this story.

    What a fucking idiot!

US President Donald Trump accuses Ukraine of having "zero gratitude" over US efforts to end the war.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, he writes: "UKRAINE 'LEADERSHIP' HAS EXPRESSED ZERO GRATITUDE FOR OUR EFFORTS, AND EUROPE CONTINUES TO BUY OIL FROM RUSSIA."

Trump writes: "I INHERITED A WAR THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED, A WAR THAT IS A LOSER FOR EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE SO NEEDLESSLY DIED."

    Millions???

    Also...

Yes, some European countries still buy oil from Russia, but the amount is significantly lower than before the invasion of Ukraine due to EU sanctions and a ban on most seaborne imports. Oil imports have dropped from 27% of the EU's supply in 2021 to around 3% in 2025. However, pipeline crude oil from Russia continues to flow to certain countries like Hungary and Slovakia, and some LNG imports also continue.

Exactly WHO authored the peace plan that trump is taking credit for? The last I heard, neither the president nor any of his administration is in the habit of writing their documents in Russian.

[And as for that cringeworthy “ungrateful” bit, it’s the same theme he contemptuously heaped on Zelensky in that shameful ambush trump and his sycophantic VP and Secretary of State staged in the Oval Office.]

Certain phrases in Trump’s proposed deal seem to be using Russian language.
