I was shocked both by the meager homes and monthly incomes of locals, and by the cost of rentals, on par with those in Palermo.
Ushuaia is a great wee city or maybe better to say a great wee town.
But it's ten years since I last visited...maybe time to go back.
Always wanted to go there even before my connection with Argentina came along. Now that I'm living in the country my desires for going have mostly gone. More so now after reading that.
I’ve not been but watched a few Youtube videos there. It seems quite scruffy not just around the edges but even downtown too is pretty rough is my take on it from video footage
But the lure is powerful even if not taking an Antarctic voyage. The setting is persuasive as is the badge of honour of visiting “the edge of the earth”
