Villa Epecuén was a tourist village in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It flooded in 1985 and was abandoned. Its ruins are on the eastern shore of the Laguna Epecuén, about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of the city of Carhué.

Have any forum members visited this ghost town?

Never, as it is very far from Buenos Aires. Google Maps is not able to find a route to get there but I estimate it would be a minimum 6-7 hour drive from Buenos Aires. It could be part of an interesting journey across the Province of Buenos Aires. Maybe Splinter will ride on his bike and provide a photographic reportage to us.

Excellent suggestion, serafina . After his road trip, Splinter can make a report to the class.

He will be graded on punctuation, spelling, and grammar (not to mention proper use of the Oxford comma).

Ah, the Oxford comma. It constantly eludes me.

Ah, the Oxford comma. It constantly eludes me.
It’s slippery, but it can’t elude us this time. It’s right above “me,” and can’t get away.

I prefer the Oxford Comma, although the Associated Press Stylebook discourages it.
It avoids unnecessarily ambiguity and improves clarity.
Without the Oxford Comma:
She brought along her partner, an accomplished pianist and a bon vivant." (One person or three?)
With the Oxford Comma:
She brought along her partner, an accomplished pianist, and a bon vivant." (Clearly 3 people)
