Apps for local currency are one thing - Modo, MercadoPago, Cuenta DNI etc - and the dollar apps are quite another.
One of the most popular doing the rounds is DolarApp, used by many remote workers in Argentina who are paid in USD.
Has anyone tried this app yet?
My missus takes care of the money side of things....I can't be arsed figuring out how anything works here.
Those Argentina apps are restricted to residents who were born here. If the apps do business in a few other Latin America countries those people are eligible too. Maybe Brasil, Perú, México, Colombia, Uruguay y Ecuador.
That was what I found when I investigated some of in 2024. Really it just to test in case a backup was needed. Regular bank transfers are easy enough.
