I've been trying to find a free colourising program/site for some time and have just come across this AI powered site which I've used to colourise some family photos, at least six so far and I haven't been asked to pay anything yet.

This is a photograph from around 1963, set in Spain. I don't know who the people are, but I think my parents met them when corossing over for a bull fight from Gibraltar.

I was amazed when I first saw this!

    Anyway, give it a try.

Don't think I've got any B&W photos.....too young. The missus is bound to have some though. I'll ask her and give it a try.

I have given it a try and it brought alive my GGM, who I never met (or who I recall meeting!).

I tried it with an old b&w picture of mine, and it picked random color for my clothing (blue) but I am sure I was wearing a red jacket on that day, as there are other pictures of me with the same jacket.

Regardless, it is amazing. Great find!

I am wondering how it manages to guess the skin tone based on the facial features.

I found one of me when I was a boy. Didn't work very well.

The colorizing didn’t work very well, but it’s such a cute photo!

I think it must depend on the quality of the original photo.

Yes, that was a newspaper cutting so not a fair example.
